Aman and Jessica had a beautiful and intimate Roka Celebration at the end of winter, and I loved getting to know them both while documenting this special milestone in their lives. The Roka is a significant pre-wedding event in Indian Weddings. It is the first step toward marriage and represents the union of the two families. I was honored to witness this beautiful Roka ceremony with them, and I was struck by the vibrant colors and storied rituals.
After the ceremony, we went to the historic Deepwood Museum and Gardens in Salem, Oregon for couple photos to celebrate the occasion. The beautifully manicured gardens were showing off the first signs of spring against the last bits of winter. Deepwood Museum and Gardens is also a wonderful location for weddings or any special photo moments.
As an Oregon Wedding & Elopement Photographer, one aspect of my work that I love the most is learning about different cultures, traditions and the many ways we celebrate love - itβs such a gift to step into a coupleβs life and help preserve their memories.
Congrats to Aman and Jessica! Scroll and enjoy!
