As a Portland, Oregon wedding and elopement photographer, I always save time each Fall/Winter for family sessions with my favorite couples. It’s a special part of my work to document the many ways families grow and to see how their lives unfold over the years. Documenting 2020 felt even more important and meaningful to me. There were so many twists and turns that challenged each of us deeply this year, but also many really beautiful memories as we spent more time together and focused on the here and now.
After photographing some really special Portland weddings and elopements this year, I loved slowing down for this in-home lifestyle session with Kort, Emi and their family. They baked cookies (with Star Wars cookie cutters, of course), had mimosas, laughed together, played with Rainbow the cat, and I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon documenting all of it with this fun crew. And their holiday decor was so festive and on point! There’s nothing better than twinkle light bokeh.
