Anders + Lucas | Coastal Wedding at The Ruins in Astoria and Cannon Beach, Oregon

The warm summer sun is stretching through the marine layer on this sweet August morning, like a fluffy cat just waking up from its nap. You feel an undeniable electricity in the salty breeze, and it's time for a coastal wedding that will take your breath away. This queer union was a celebration of love that knows no boundaries, full of cherished memories documented through the lens of this inclusive photographer. An absolute dream! ❤️

When Anders and Lucas first reached out to me, they shared that the theme of their queer wedding would be a celebration of all they've been through, and the things they have been anxiously waiting on to arrive. This list included their wedding, Lucas landing a permanent job after earning his PhD, the new friends and connections they were making together, and living somewhere they both felt happy, welcomed, and where they could build a life. What a special day to document!

The wedding weekend was in the quaint, historic coastal town of Astoria, Oregon with a stop in Cannon Beach for their intimate vows and ceremony at Ecola State Park (a forever favorite of mine). The Oregon Coast created the perfect backdrop for this vintage-inspired love story. I adored witnessing these loves share their vows with Haystack Rock and the seemingly endless Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. And their attire! So many stylish, bespoke treasures that bring the images to life.

The day was full of vintage outfits and details, gentle hugs and sweet touches, epic cliff-side views and coastal splendor, shared laughter, and the best dance floor shenanigans at The Ruins for my camera to freeze in time. The Ruins at the Astor is such an iconic and historic Oregon venue, full of unique details unlike other locations.

Anders and Lucas have an enchanting connection and it's a joy to witness and document their adoration and support for each other. Queer love is an act of resistance, full of sparkling vibrant hues, and a beautiful reminder that love knows no limits. As an inclusive Oregon Elopement Photographer, my aim is to create a safe space that allows me to authentically tell a story, to encapsulate the raw and genuine emotions of the day. I always strive for every couple to feel seen, heard, and loved through my lens - because I know this is how the most authentic moments unfold.

And if you find yourself dreaming of a coastal wedding, filled with vintage charm, nostalgia, and a celebration of all love, know that there is a photographer who sees you! Let’s connect!
