I’ve known Amar and Andrea for a few years, and I was completely humbled when they asked me to capture this time in their lives as they get ready to meet their baby girl. Both are creatives: Andrea is a photographer herself and Amar is a designer. It was a treat to spend a winter afternoon with them at Hoyt Arboretum, basking in a day without much rain and a highly anticipated bit of sunlight.

Andrea loved the idea of her maternity photos capturing winter in all its glory: the stark and crisp trees waiting for leaves to fill their branches, the cold air that allows for sweater weather, the lush greens of the pacific northwest, and the promise of spring and new life on the way.

This Hoyt Arboretum Maternity Session was so special and unique. I loved that I could help commemorate and celebrate a special time in Amar and Andrea’s journey, and highlight just how amazing life really can be. Can’t wait to meet the little one! :)
